YOUTH TEAM LEADER (8 HOURS PER WEEK)
SALARY RANGE GRADE 8 SCP 31 – 34 (£33,745 - £36,400 pro rata)
Do you want to work for a progressive Town Council as we are looking for a part time (8 hours per week) conscientious Youth Team Leader to develop and co-ordinate HETCs youth work.
To manage the existing successful Friday Night Project for children and young people with additional needs for ages 13 to 24 and the Junior Youth Club for Years 5 and 6. You will play an important role in all aspects of our work, with a particular focus on building teams, engaging with the needs of our local community and working with families.
We are looking for someone who will lead and oversee both groups and activities in Hedge End ensuring we provide the best possible context for children and young people to participate. The ideal candidate should be:
- able to communicate effectively with young people individually and as a group
- able to engage young people in decision making
- able to provide advice and guidance to young people
- able to undertake day to day administration tasks
- able to line manage staff and volunteer

WEEKEND & BANK HOLIDAY CARETAKER / CLEANER
SALARY GRADE 2, SCP 10-12 (£20,203 - £21,438 PRO RATA)
A vacancy has arisen to join Hedge End Town Council caretaking team. We are looking for either one person able to cover both days on the weekend or two friendly reliable and enthusiastic people to join us.
The post is for 7 hours per day Saturday & Sunday with potential for overtime at the weekend and when cover is required during the week. Ideally, we would want two people on alternate days so they can cover for absence. The hours are split shifts anywhere from 7.30am to midnight depending on the hires.
You will be required to carry out a range of caretaking and cleaning duties within HETC buildings, adhering to Health & Safety procedures and regulations. Duties will include opening halls to hirers, checking out hirers ensuring no damages. Cleaning of surfaces and sinks, brushing and wet mopping of floors and cleaning toilets.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in providing an excellent customer service for our hirers to ensure it is a welcoming environment. The ideal candidate should be:
- friendly, approachable, flexible and reliable
- able to work well with people and teams
- able to work under guidance and on your own initiative
- willing to undertake relevant training
- be physically fit as this is an active role
Experience is preferred but not essential. Applicants must hold a full driving licence and preferably have a vehicle they can use for work.
