Football and Cricket
The Town Council run all of the publicly available football pitches in the town. Pitches are booked in advance by the various clubs who run football teams.
All the pitches have changing facilities nearby.
The football pitches are as follows:
- Norman Rodaway Playing Field
2 senior pitches
2 junior pitches
- Greta Park
1 Senior pitch
Play at any of these must be booked via the Town Council Office.
In addition, there are many kick-about areas around the town which do not require to be booked.
Hedge End Rangers play at the Norman Rodaway Recreation Ground.
If you want to watch 1st class cricket, you might want to visit the Ageas Bowl, home of Hampshire Cricket, which is barely 2 miles
The Hedge End Cricket Pavilion is based at Turnpike Pavilion, Turnpike Way, Hedge End and due to incredible popularity it is fully booked every day of the week by local cricket clubs.
There is an artificial wicket and also practice nets which can be used by the public, when not in use by the clubs.
