Lord Mayor Attends Charity Lunch at 2000 Centre

This week the ever popular Lunch Club, which has long been a part of the community in Hedge End, pulled out all the stops with a three-course meal at the 2000 Centre, in aid of raising money for charity. Special invitees included the newly appointed Mayor of Eastleigh Cllr. Darshan Mann alongside Cllr. Jane Welsh and Town Clerk Sarah Jelley.

The Lunch club meets every week so many of the over 60's in Hedge End can come together and enjoy each other's company with a satisfying home-cooked meal. The wonderful volunteers who so kindly give their time to support the Lunch club served a well-presented selection of prawn cocktail for starter, roast lamb main course and Eton mess to finish.

The tables were adorned with beautiful purple flowers and matching napkins to co-inside with the colours represented by their chosen charity, the Stroke Association. To close the event everyone participated in a raffle which brought the lunch to a lovely end, totalling upwards of £400 raised.
