125th Anniversay Celebrations 2019

Only yesterday did it feel like we were celebrating the 100th Anniversary, first forming as a parish in 1894 and later as a Town Council in 1992. Although this year we did not dress up in the late Victorian era style of clothing like before, everyone did make a fantastic effort to celebrate the 125th milestone on Friday the 22nd of November.


Order of Service 

This year we are providing printed brochures for the Order of Service for the annual Remembrance Sunday Parade on the 10th of November. However, If you would like to download a copy which can be easily viewed online or on your device, instead of a paper copy you are most welcome to do so.



Trooping the Colour

The official birthday of the Sovereign is marked each year by a military parade and march-past, known as Trooping the Colour. This takes place each June on Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall, in front of crowds of onlookers and is enjoyed by millions world-wide. The troops participating in the parade are drawn of fully trained, operational troops from the Household Division.


Applying for a Christmas Stand 2019

Christmas comes around quicker each year, and believe it or not, enquiries for Christmas stalls at our Annual Christmas lights switch-on is a popular topic. 


This community event, much loved by the residents of Hedge End will be taking place on Thursday the 28th of November in the centre of the village. 


Armed Forces Day 75th Anniversary 

Hedge End Town raised the Flag outside the 2000 to mark our respect and show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets. We delve into caretaker Micks' story to find out what Armed Forces day means to him, and many of the brave like Mick, who have served this country.


Hedge End Carnival 2019

The sun shone brightly on Hedge End Carnival this year, as local residents, families and children lined the streets to support what is one of the biggest calendar events in Hedge End. The sound of drums echoed through the crowds as the procession kicked off at 2.15pm, where it always begins, at the Recreation Ground in St. John's Road. 


Green Flag Awarded 10th Year in a Row 2019

Hedge End Town Council could not be more delighted to share with you the good news! For the Tenth year running Albert Road Cemetery in Hedge End has been recognised by the Green Flag Award Scheme as one of the very best in the world. Hedge End joins other green spaces awarded recognition in Hampshire and the South.



Mayor of Eastleigh Attends Charity Lunch at 2000 Centre

This week the ever popular Lunch Club, which has long been a part of the community in Hedge End, pulled out all the stops with a three-course meal at the 2000 Centre, in aid of raising money for charity. Special invitees included the newly appointed Mayor of Eastleigh Cllr. Darshan Mann alongside Cllr. Jane Welsh and Town Clerk Sarah Jelley.


Annual Parish Assembly 2019

This year the Annual Parish Assembly took place on the 14th of May at the 2000 Centre Town Council Offices, and it could not have been a happier occasion with a great turn out from the community!



75th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings

Whilst Hedge End was not a military estabilisment, this little village did very much play its part in the

D-Day landings through the HMS Cricket base which was located where River Hamble Country Park is today. Now known as ‘The Crickets’, a part of the woods between the village and the River Hamble at Hoe Moor.
