Every year people unite in commemorating Remembrance Sunday to make sure that no-one is forgotten and to remember those who have sacrificed themselves to secure and protect our freedom.
Remembrance 2020 where we had hoped for a short service to be led by Rev Chris Rowberry of St Johns Church which sadly was not to be. The clerk and her team were able to improvise at short notice and create a booking system for wreath laying and whilst this may seem short of community spirit it still enabled people to appropriately remember others who serve, have served and sacrificed so we could have our today. The turnout in allocated time slots during the day was good and the memorial looked resplendent dressed in poppy wreaths.
Wildern School and several of the uniformed groups had also laid wreaths ensuring that generations to come will continue this practice ‘When you go home tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow we gave our today'.
