BOUNDARY COMMISSION FOR ENGLAND - Revised proposals for new constituency boundaries in the South East 2018

The Boundary Commission for England is an independent and impartial non- departmental public body, which is responsible for reviewing Parliamentary constituency boundaries in England. The 2018 review is now available to view at the Hedge End Town Council offices: 2000 Centre, St Johns Road, Hedge End, SO30 4AF.

GRETA PARK RED OAK
We have had to say goodbye to the landmark Red Oak which proudly stood at the entrance to Greta Park (27.09). Many of you will have read in the Summer Gazette that its removal was required in the interest of public safety, as significant fungal decay had been identified in several areas, including the root base. There was also evidence of a cavity, or area of tissues with little or no structural integrity, leading to grave concerns that a structural weakness could cause catastrophic root or stem failure. It is with much regret that the Town Council has had to take such drastic action, however a new tree will be planted at the site in due course.
