HEDGE END CARNIVAL CELEBRATED ITS 90TH ANNIVERSARY IN 2011!

Following a remarkably successful 2011 Carnival for Hedge End, the 91st Carnival will take place -

When: Saturday 7 July 2012

Where: Procession starts at St John's Recreation Ground and continues through village; Gala Show and Funfair based at Greta Park Hedge End

A true community event that brings everyone together for a special day full of smiles and laughter.

Now in its 9oth year, Hedge End Carnival goes from strength to strength and is as popular as ever drawing record crowds of both local residents and visitors to see the annual spectacle in all of its colour and glory.

Next year's event will be no exception with even more fun and entertainment planned for all the community of Hedge End:

•    Grand Procession – Many different classes of entry: Adults, Children, Pairs, walking groups; vehicle mounted floats
•    Carnival Queen / Princesses
•    Village Show – fruits, vegetables, flowers, cooking and classes for children
•    Gala Show – Dance, music, food, exhibits, art show, stalls at Greta Park
•    Fun Fair – The funfair will be on site at Greta Park for carnival week - Wednesday until Monday. Opens weekdays from 5.30pm; Saturday and Sunday from 2.00pm.

Hedge End Carnival Committee

Each year the money raised by the carnival is distributed to local groups and community organisations. Previous groups that have benefitted have been The Scouts & Guides; Senior Citizens Lunch; Christmas Lights; St John’s Ambulance to name but a few.

Hedge End Carnival is organised by a small group of community spirited people and relies heavily on the generosity of both local businesses and local helpers who are willing to give up some time to ensure this event can take place.
