CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON EVENT - THURSDAY 5 DECEMBER
This year's Christmas Lights Switch On event will be held on Thursday 5 December. There will be STALLS from 4.30-6.30PM selling CHRISTMAS FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS, GIFTS & TOYS, TOMBOLAS and you can even get a HOT CHOCOLATE to warm the cockles...Oh and not forgetting the return of the wonderfully colourful CHRISTMAS WANDS stall that children will just love! There will be the usual CHILDRENS' RIDES, as well as MINCE PIES & MULLED WINE FROM BUDGENS. You can also take your children into the Library between 5-6PM for STORYTELLING FUN!
Then, join us on the village green for CHILDRENS CHOIRS, INDIAN DANCERS, SALLY JOHNSON'S ACADEMY OF DANCE AND THE JUBILEE BRASS BAND OF SOUTHAMPTON, before the lights are officially switched on at 6PM.

The Hedge End Calendar 2014 is now available! This year, we have selected 12 colourful images provided by the local community, as well as a few from our own archives. This wonderful, fun, Christmas stocking filler will make a great edition to the household of any Hedge End resident, past or present! So, pick up your A4 calendar today, whilst stocks last. All proceeds from the sale of this calendar will go towards community events, such as the Christmas Lights. FREE 'HEDGE END SHOPPA' MINIBUS SERVICE
Take the Hedge End Shoppa FREE COMMUNITY BUS into Hedge End village centre, collect your loyalty card stamp and take advantage of the many OFFERS available from participating traders. The bus, driven by our
dedicated volunteers, runs routes across the town on a Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and brings local residents into the heart of the village to shop for free. The project, funded by a £10,000 grant
from the Department for Communities and Local Government, follows Hedge End's Portas Pilot bid which sought to breath new life into struggling high streets. Download a copy (pdf) of

VOLUNTEER MINIBUS DRIVERS NEEDED
Would you be able to give up a few hours of your time to help the community? Hedge End's Town Team are currently looking for volunteer drivers to drive a 17 seater minibus on a regular basis. The free bus and loyalty card scheme has been made possible by a £10,000 grant, awarded as part of our Portas Pilot bid. The project aims to both promote the village and improve the footfall in its town centre.
